A compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), sometimes called a compact fluorescent tube, is an energy efficient lighting product. For a given light output, a compact fluorescent lamp use 20%-25% of the power of an equivalent incandescent lamp, thus helping cut electricity use and reduce electric bill. In addition, as CFLs can fit into most light fixtures formerly used for incandescent bulbs, they are increasingly used to replace conventional incandescent bulbs.
Compact fluorescent lamps are available in various shapes and specifications. Generally, CFL's tube types include 2U, 3U, 4U, 5U, 6U, and their power ranges from 3W to 240W. 2U, 3U compact fluorescent lamps are mainly used for residential lighting and commercial lighting. These products are a good substitute for incandescent lamps. 4U, 5U, 6U CFLs are primarily used for commercial lighting and industrial lighting.
